Open pelvic fractures are devastating injuries, rare, and with high mortality. Leading causes of mortality are: haemorrhage, infection associated injuries. The aim this paper is to point out methods treating these injuries great number prognostic factors. Material - in period from January 2011 December 2015, 221 patients pelvis ringfracture were treated three large clinical centers Serbia, which 13(5%) had an open fracture type. Urogenital intra-abdominal monitored, severity determined Severity Score Injury (ISS) Trauma (TS). Results there 6(46%) women 7(54%) men average age 41(13 76). Injuries traffic trauma dominant. most common cause anterior posterior compression 6(46%), lateral 4(31%) vertical force 3 (23%) patients. Dominant type I Gustilo, There 6 (46%) urogenital same 3(23%) been colon resection diversion. Due abundant hemorrhage hypovolemic shock 2 died, another one died after days due sepsis multisystem organ failure (MSOF). Conclusion rate, to: infection, abdominal genitourinary tract ISS> 25, TS <8 patient >65 years.

The functional outcome of surgically treated unstable pelvic ring fractures by open reduction, internal fixation

Abstract Background: Unstable Pelvic fracture, a result of high energy antero-posterior compression injury, has been managed based on internal fixation and open reduction. The mode of fixation in Unstable Pelvic fracture has, however, been a subject of controversy and some authors have proposed a need to address the issue of partial breach of the pelvic ring elements in these injuries. This st...
